Bushwacka!, aka Matthew Benjamin, has been DJing and producing for over 30 years. Starting out as a percussionist in the London School Symphony Orchestra, he was drawn into the Acid House movement in '88 and quickly became a fixture on the UK club scene. By 18, he held residencies at four major London clubs and was soon touring across Europe and the US. As one half of the legendary duo Layo & Bushwacka!, he helped define the UK electronic sound with four albums, iconic tracks like "Love Story," and residencies at The End, Space Ibiza, and Warung Brazil. Their live shows and Shake It warehouse parties were the stuff of legend. Beyond the duo, Bushwacka! has remixed Depeche Mode, been tapped by Madonna, and released on labels like XL, Olmeto, and Ultra. Post-pandemic, his Vinyl Love Affair livestreams reached over 2 million viewers, and he returned to form with releases on Defected, Crosstown Rebels, and Rekids. Also a qualified psychotherapist, he co-founded Listen Up Therapy to support creatives. Now celebrating 10 years of his Pikes Ibiza residency, Bushwacka! continues to tour globally with a new album dropping in 2025. Timeless, passionate, and always evolving.
