Alejandro Bustamante-Martinez, known professionally as Currents, is a San Diego-born DJ, producer, and label manager. Deeply rooted in house music culture and shaped by mentorship from some of the genre’s most respected figures, Currents blends classic house foundations with jackin’, disco, and loop-driven grooves, creating sets and productions that feel both nostalgic and forward-thinking. His music has received airplay on BBC Radio 1, KIIS-FM, Dash Radio, and KCRW, earning support from Jamie Jones, Solomun, BLOND:ISH, Mark Knight, and other global tastemakers. On stage, he has performed at leading clubs across the United States and made a standout appearance at CRSSD Festival, sharing the bill with some of electronic music’s most influential names. Beyond the booth, Currents plays a key role in shaping Junior Sanchez’s Brobot Records, championing emerging talent while advancing a modern interpretation of classic house. As both artist and curator, he continues to build momentum within the global house music landscape.
