About Rob Sparx

It would be hard to find a more eclectic producer than Rob Sparx. A double bass & guitar player originally influenced by the sounds of rock legends like Jimi Hendrix, he became fascinated by dance music and began producing in the late 90s. Originally from London growing up close to Croydon & Camden, Rob moved to Leicester in late 1999 and was soon spending a lot of time at DJ SS's 5HQ studios where many UK producers have cut their teeth over the years. Rob's first vinyl release in 2001 under the alias Digital Source was a new skool breaks remix collab of Soul Hooligan's Algebra on Madonna's Maverick imprint. This was followed a few years later by a string of Drum n Bass records on labels including Formation, Grid and Propaganda. Rob soon turned his attention to Dubstep, signing with distributor/label Z-Audio putting out his first album Trooper and a huge number of vinyl, CD and digital releases + playing many gigs around the UK and world including Belgium, France, Spain, Poland, Holland, Germany, Latvia, Bulgaria, USA, Puerto Rico, Australia, Ukraine, Russia and Israel. After the demise of Z-Audio Rob joined Nexgen Music Group which includes his own label Migration & the House n Garage imprint Affectionate Grooves which he co-owns with Nexgen boss Daniel Clarke D.J.C.. Rob continues to release DNB and Bass Music on Nexgen/Migration and also UKG as one half of Kachina
