Born in Baghdad, Iraq, and fleeing the country amidst a war in 1980, Saeed Younan found his refuge in music. He learned to play drums and other instruments and music emerged as his passion, and inevitably pursued it. What started as an escape became a career. Today, Saeed is a world-class globe-trotting DJ, a sought-after remix producer, and the head of his very own Younan Music. Over the last two decades, the veteran producer has been a key player in the underground dance movement, and a true artist in the global dance scene. As a DJ, Saeed’s performances are renowned for his technical abilities and precision. He effortlessly weaves and morphs tracks together into a seamless blend of house and techno. All the while building momentum by allowing the music to ebb and swell. According to DJ MAG, "Saeed Younan is one of the few DJs that really knows how to serve it up well". It’s no surprise that Carl Cox chose Saeed as his go-to support act for all his US tour dates, including his Las Vegas residency, and the legendary closing of SPACE Ibiza (September 2016). Saeed has played some of the world’s biggest stages including massive festivals, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Resistance stage, Electric Forest, Escapade, Digital Dreams, BPM Festival (7 years in a row) and headlining Montreal Olympic Stadium, performing in front of 27,000 fans. In testimony to his worldwide appeal, Saeed was nominated one of America’s Top 100 DJ’s, entering “America’s Best DJ” top 50 poll, six years in a row (DJ Times). Voted top 20 best Tech-house artists of the year, 3 years in a row (Traxsource). He’s had back-to-back #1 singles on Beatport & Traxsource. His work with Celeda “The Underground’ was the #1 dance single on the Billboard charts. He was nominated “best breakthrough artist” (DanceStar Awards). If that’s wasn’t enough, PioneerDJ used his track “Yeah Ha” for a massive marketing campaign, to help boost sales of their CDJ2000’s. These milestone events have given him global recognition, the opportunity to push his sound further and captivate audiences worldwide. From Ibiza, Egypt, Russia, Dubai. To Amsterdam, Tokyo, UK, and everything in between. As a producer, Saeed is currently entering the busiest period of his career. His debut album MORPH entered the top 100 charts, in five different genres on Beatport. The dynamic producer has worked with and produced music for top artists, including Information Society, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Sumerville, Danny Tenaglia, Loco Dice and the list goes on. His production has been dubbed “timeless” by top DJs and even referred to as a “change of heart for dance music.” His vision is clear yet simply stated: “I just want people to enjoy my music as much as I enjoy playing it for them.
