Milton Jackson aka Barry Christie released his first house EP aged 18 on Tronicsole. Roger Sanchez was a fan and included it on his Mixmag CD compilation. From this young MJ took confidence and went on to release 4 more EPs on Tronicsole and Black Vinyl. A long player 'The Bionic Boy' followed which saw celebrity dance fans in the form of Tom Middleton, Larry Heard and Laurent Garnier. From there Milton Jackson teamed up with Al Kent to release house music sprinkled with a slightly more retro feel. The 2 released EPs left, right and centre on Al's Million Dollar Disco. The finest of these 'Love Is Freedom' impressed a certain Mr Joey Negro so much he asked to remix it. Another unforeseen detour then saw Milton in the world of downtempo lushness producing a long player under pseudonym number 308 as Napolean Solo. Not content with this foray into the underworld of <110BPM, Milton decided it was time to release tech-house hard enough to scare your nan on Omid 16B's Alola imprint under the name 'Obelix'. Having travelled the continents of electronica, MJ decided to come back to his first love: house music. Milton set up his own imprint Bear Trax allowing him the usual 'creative freedom' cliche. Bear Trax saw 6 releases and one of Mylo's first forays into the world of vinyl when the two hooked up as 'The Pretty Boys'. Arguably the most successful Bear Trax release was 'Incidental' which twisted the original sample that Portishead sampled (if ya get me) into a sure-fire house opus. One more detour into the world of ridiculous comedy house as 'Baracus' with Stevie Sole followed Bear Trax With track names like 'Big Tits' and 'Jack + Jill' you can be assured that this wasn't cerebral house for Radio 4 listeners. For the past year Milton has been hard at work with his band ‘Rainbow Family with fellow songster Marco Rea. Marco Rea has worked with Trevor Horne at ZTT and the 2 have created an album not unlike The Beach Boys/Beta Band/ Flaming Lips and other bands which so inspired them in the first place. The Rainbow LP is due for release next year on Console Recordings.
