About Alfonso Padilla

Pioneer and leading figure in Colombia’s electronic music scene, Alfonso Padilla brings over 30 years of experience, playing a key role in the evolution and professionalization of the national industry. He began his career in Cartagena in the early ’90s, developing a distinctive sound that has evolved from technical experimentation into an innovative, internationally oriented “Live” concept. Throughout his career, he has held residencies at iconic clubs such as Amnesia (Cartagena), where he influenced a generation between 1994 and 2000; Privilege (Cali), contributing to the growth of electronic culture in southwestern Colombia; and Fragma (Cartagena), where he led the booth for seven years. His work there earned him the award for Best Resident DJ at the CDA Awards 2014 in Bogotá. He has also performed internationally as a resident DJ for Royal Caribbean, connecting with audiences across the Caribbean and the Bahamas. As a producer, he has achieved multiple charting releases on Beatport. Under the alias Cococolombia, he gained international recognition with the track “Kamasutra” on the Canadian label Definitive Recordings, supported by John Acquaviva. Over the years, he has shared the stage with global artists such as Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Mauro Picotto, and Corvin Dalek. In 2018, he founded Padilla Records, a label focused on Afro House, Tech House, and Tribal sounds, creating a platform for both his artistic vision and emerging talent. Notable releases include Baby Come Back (2017), Días Buenos (2020), Vida (2024), AI Evolution (2025), and In Da House (2026). Currently, he is a resident DJ at Eivissa Cartagena, where he continues to refine his “Live” format, integrating organic elements and vocal collaborations to elevate the performance experience. His style blends sophisticated Tech House, progressive influences, and Caribbean rhythmic essence, positioning him as one of the most consistent and respected figures in Colombia’s electronic music scene.
