Hyroglifics has been a stalwart of the Critical roster following his debut Binary Vol. 1release in 2014 and hasn’t set a foot out of place since. Building on a faultless back catalogue, 2019’s Stone Rose EP and 2020’s Best Of EP both represent his unflinching dexterity in drum & bass production, turning his hand from tender musicality to dancefloor-charged heavy hitters with a rare and enviable finesse. This is an artist with a sharp and distinctive sonic identity, completely at home in drum & bass but just as comfortable outside of it. His and Sinistarr’s collaborative EP for Naina and Sherelle’s Hooversound imprint demonstrates his ability to sculpt his sound into exciting new shapes. Now in 2020, he continues to stay one step ahead with an output so consistent that everything with his name on is guaranteed to impress.
