Langham Research Centre formed in 2003, whilst producing BBC Radio programmes from Broadcasting House, in Langham Place. From the start LRC were interested in manipulating sound on tape and in focussing on a small number of sounds. The group (Felix Carey, Iain Chambers, Philip Tagney, Robert Worby) compose new music using an instrumentarium of vintage analogue devices, and perform classic 20th century electronic music using the technology of the time, by composers including John Cage, Christian Wolff and Alvin Lucier.
Dancefloor Impact Research is a Techno label. To submit a demo, study recent Dancefloor Impact Research releases to understand their current sound direction — A&Rs listen for tracks that fit their aesthetic, not just production quality in isolation. Dancefloor Impact Research expects clean mixdowns, an arrangement suited for DJ play (typically a strong intro and outro), and a sound that sits within their Techno catalogue.
