Biography
Yotopia is the long-running progressive trance project of Israeli producers Yonatan Rimon & Tomer Dayan, active since 2002 and widely regarded as pioneers of the early progressive psytrance movement. Their debut album Point Blank (Flow Records, 2005) quickly achieved classic status, earning support from leading DJs worldwide and establishing Yotopia as a defining name in the global scene. The album’s forward-thinking sound and dancefloor precision helped shape a new era of melodic, driving progressive trance. Following the release, Yotopia toured extensively across the globe, performing on some of the world’s most influential stages and festivals, including Boom Festival (Portugal), Rainbow Serpent (Australia), Universo Paralello (Brazil), Symbiosis (USA), Indian Spirit (Germany), Aurora (Greece), Radiance (Mexico), L&L (South Africa) and many more. In 2009, the duo released their second album on Iboga Records, one of the genre’s most respected labels. This release marked a clear artistic evolution - blurring the boundaries between techno, progressive, and trance - resulting in a mature, finely crafted album that became an essential DJ tool across major dancefloors and clubs worldwide. Over the years, Yotopia collaborated with and remixed tracks from top artists, including Ace Ventura, Perfect Stranger, Lish, Rocky, Sphera, Phaxe, Atmos, and many others, further cementing their position within the global progressive and psytrance community. Beyond Yotopia, the duo also operate Dayan & John, a project dedicated to techno and progressive house productions and DJ sets, showcasing their versatility and deep-rooted influence across electronic music. Their third album on Iboga Records captures the essence of a long-distance musical journey, unfolding an uncompromising story that weaves through a spectrum of electronic genres.
