Amirali creates electronic music shaped by emotion, movement, and time, unfolding between house, techno, and electronica. His work is driven by a focus on tension, atmosphere, and emotional continuity, favouring slow-building narratives over immediate impact. Breaking into the electronic music scene with his debut album In Time on Crosstown Rebels, Amirali quickly earned widespread critical acclaim. The album was shortlisted for album of the year by Clash Magazine and praised by Resident Advisor for its "perfect craftsmanship". His track My Way was named UK Metro's track of the year, leading to support across NPR, Mixmag, BBC Radio 1, and BBC Radio 6 Music. A classically trained pianist, live instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter, Amirali brings a compositional approach to electronic music. His background in architecture further informs his sense of structure, space, and emotional progression, shaping a sound that is both detailed and immersive. This sensibility extends into his performances, where he is known for long-form sets that prioritise narrative flow and emotional depth. A recent 5-hour set in Lima for 7,000 people ahead of Solomun became a defining moment, with audiences still referencing the experience months later. His journey has taken him to some of the world's most respected venues, including Berghain, Fabric, and The Warehouse Project, as well as more unconventional spaces such as the Vienna Opera House and Warung in Brazil. Alongside his dancefloor output, Amirali explores more experimental and visual work through Dark Matters, a label and audiovisual project embracing unpredictability and sonic exploration. His second studio album Trial & Error led to a collaboration with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, widely regarded as one of the most distinctive projects in the series.
