Butane hails from the Midwestern USA, the birthplace of house and techno music. Immersed from a young age in the underground sounds emanating from Chicago and Detroit, he counts among his influences: New York house, west coast house, UK tech house, German techno. He cut his teeth as a young raver on iconic dance floors like Twilo, Vinyl, Space, Crobar, and Rednofive. A DJ since 2002, Andrew put St. Louis' underground music scene on the map with his infamous Alphahouse events. In 2004 he embarked on production, earning immediate global acclaim despite no formal training. The German press hailed him a "wunderkind." Now, over two decades later, Butane is a beacon of artistic integrity in underground electronic dance music. He values studio work over social media, with an impressive discography and three influential labels of his own - Alphahouse, Little Helpers, and Extrasketch.
