RJ Buchanan is a producer with deep roots in the Los Angeles dance scene, now based in Boston. As half of the LA electro-house duo Valerna, he rose to prominence during the genre’s 2010 wave with raw, high-energy tracks on labels like Plasmapool, Dim Man, & Burn The Fire. Valerna notched several Beatport Top 100 hits (including a Top 10 single) and performed alongside artists such as Skrillex and Wolfgang Gartner. Now producing solo as Horse & Pony, Buchanan channels his diverse influences – from disco house and indie dance to dubstep and electro – into a fresh, genre-blurring sound.
