Electro house is the big-room, high-energy strand of house built on distorted saw-lead hooks, hard-hitting drops and festival-scale arrangements. It broke through in the late 2000s and remains the commercial engine of dance music, centred on the Dutch mainstage axis (Spinnin' Records, Musical Freedom, Protocol Recordings, STMPD RCRDS) alongside the North American imprints Monstercat, Ultra Records, Dim Mak Records and mau5trap. This is a different genre from `electro` (the 808-driven, breakbeat-based Detroit lineage) despite the shared word, and the two directories share almost no labels.
What Electro House Labels Look For
Electro house A&Rs are listening for a hook that survives a phone speaker. The lead has to be memorable in isolation, the drop has to land with real impact, and the whole record has to hold up at commercial loudness without turning to mud. This is the one part of electronic music where a competitive master is genuinely part of the evaluation. Arrangements are short and radio-aware: a tight intro, a build with intent, a drop by 60–90 seconds. Tempo sits at 126–130 BPM. What kills most submissions is not a weak drop but a generic one: a preset supersaw doing what a thousand other demos already did.
Submission Tips
These are the highest-volume A&R inboxes in dance music, so the first 30 seconds decide everything. Put the strongest section early and never send a demo that takes two minutes to arrive. Have your radio edit and your extended mix ready before you pitch, because a label that likes the record will ask for both immediately, and a producer who already has them looks like someone who can be scheduled. Uncleared vocal samples are the other reliable deal-killer here, since these labels actually clear and monetise releases.
